Have you ever cocked an ear to listen to the song of the earth?
Surprised? Well don’t be for the Earth has music for those who listen.
She speaks, she tries to converse, if only you would not hasten.
So, Sit a while amid nature and reboot, be one with her & give her an ear.
You ask what music the Earth plays. What songs she sings?
Why, there are so many happy rhythms that she can prate on about.
Just close your eyes and cock an ear and I’m sure you too shall hear
The breeze that rustles through the lush leaves, the trees that sway
To the wily wind; they all play the music that the Earth conducts.
They all communicate in musical tones, if only we attentively listen.
Believe me; the Earth does speak, to those who pay it some heed.
So, allow yourself a pause, observe and behold the simple joys
And you too shall hear the happy song that the Earth hums.
She hums it in the buzzing of the bees & the humming bird,
She resonates it in the flitting of the Butterfly’s wings and the
Flutter of a maiden’s eyelashes as she hopelessly falls in love.
The Earth plays its tunes in the gentle lapping of the waves that
Caress our feet softly on the beach as we sit watching the sunset.
She plays it in the cacophonous banter of the roosting birds that
Fly back to their boughs to perch and settle in for the night.
The Earth creates music every time the cicadas serenade the night.
The crickets and fireflies too sometimes play in the orchestra.
But, the Earth’s music is not for the non-believers or the naysayers?
It is music that the heart understands, that the soul comprehends.
It is music to bring out the gentleness and goodness in humans.
It is music to help us delve, introspect and search our souls.
For man’s avarice has desecrated the earth beyond reason
And often now more than happy songs, we hear the angry roar
As our mother unleashes her fury in her bosom’s quake and
Aggrieved she cries out her angst and sorrow in tsunamis of tears.
