Running

The incessant running, the travel, the waiting in lounges,

Reek of a life that is always racing to someone else’s beat.

Hard as we try, the running does not stop, we do not halt;

In the melee to beat time, we run, unending in a loop.

But should we take a pause, I wonder if we would

Find the time introspect and ruminate on why it is

That we make our life such a flurry of hyper activity?

Why it is that even though we want to stop, we run?

About Sonal Singh

An author, storyteller, and full-time observer of life’s glorious absurdities. I write humour-laced stories where chaos wears fluffy fur, emotions arrive uninvited, and middle-class Indian households become ecosystems of drama, love, and unsolicited advice. Armed with sarcasm, caffeine, and alarming emotional attachment to stray creatures, I believe compassion is less of a virtue and more of a lifestyle disorder. One that I embrace. When I’m not writing, I’m usually busy running a full-time HR consultancy business, rescuing animals, or trying to maintain dignity while being emotionally manipulated by my pets. Through my literary work, I try to blend humour with heart, celebrating the messy coexistence of humans and non-humans in modern urban India.

  1. Up to a point in my life I had no Travel. Then Travel by bus started. Then travel by train and bus started. Then Travel by Aeroplance in India started; and then Travel by Aeroplane in India and Abroad started; and now my Travel activities which 100% now reduced to 5%; I believe there is some Role of Destiny in Travel; in my humble opinion Sonal jee.
