My Tall Lasses

(Laugh all you want but I am naming this one after my tall daughters who love this combo so the name stays.)

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2 cups pomegranate seeds + 2 tsp
  2. 2 cups green grapes
  3. ½ cup ice cubes
  4. A few wedges of mandarin orange (for garnish)
  5. 2 tbsp sugar (to cut down the tartness of the grapes)

METHOD

  1. Blitz the grapes, sugar and pomegranate together in a blender with ice cubes.
  2. Strain the juice.
  3. In a tall glass add 1 tsp of pomegranate seeds (1 tsp per glass)
  4. Pour the chilled juice and garnish with an orange wedge.

TIP – If you have time then let the juice remain in a glass jar with the pomegranate seeds added. Into this add a few wedges of orange (do not squeeze them). Refrigerate for a few hours and then serve chilled. The orange wedges will impart a lovely aroma and flavor to the juice.

About Sonal Singh

An author, storyteller, and full-time observer of life’s glorious absurdities. I write humour-laced stories where chaos wears fluffy fur, emotions arrive uninvited, and middle-class Indian households become ecosystems of drama, love, and unsolicited advice. Armed with sarcasm, caffeine, and alarming emotional attachment to stray creatures, I believe compassion is less of a virtue and more of a lifestyle disorder. One that I embrace. When I’m not writing, I’m usually busy running a full-time HR consultancy business, rescuing animals, or trying to maintain dignity while being emotionally manipulated by my pets. Through my literary work, I try to blend humour with heart, celebrating the messy coexistence of humans and non-humans in modern urban India.
