Food tells its own story and sometimes beverages do too. Confused? Ah, don’t be. I was referring to the nomenclature of this particular drink. It is named after a friend and her indomitable spirit to master the German language.
PALLAVI’S GENUSS (indulgence)
INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups pineapple
- 1 ½ cups cucumber (with skin)
- 1 green apple (with skin)
- 1 cup chilled water
- 2 tbsp mint leaves, chopped
- ¼ tsp black rock salt
- ¼ tsp pepper powder
- 2 tsp sugar (or according to taste)
METHOD
- Blitz the pineapple, cucumber and green apple together in a blender along with the sugar, salt and pepper. Add 1 cup chilled water to the juice to dilute it as the pulpy mixture obtained post blitzing will be quite thick and lumpy.
- Strain the juice.
- Serve chilled.
